Summary:

The work schedule for this position is:



  • Full Time (40 hours per week)


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Incumbent may be required to make long-distance trips to other regions within Germany and adjacent countries that require overnight stays.

Duties

Acts as chauffeur for Motor Pool customers and supports the executive office (AMB, DCM, CG) when needed driving official vehicles and designated vehicles, including armored cars for trips within the city or throughout Germany and region.  Serves as specialized auto mechanic performing the normal range of automotive maintenance for official vehicles, including electrical repairs, and general overhaul and general inspections. 

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: 
Two years’ experience as commercial driver is required. One year of vehicle maintenance experience gained in a vehicle repair shop or motor pool is required.

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school required (US: High School Diploma/GED; Germany: state German school degree). Successful completion of vocational training as a car mechanic required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: 
English limited knowledge and German good working knowledge speaking/reading/writing is required.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 
-- German driver’s license, classes: B and FZF Personenbeförderungsschein is required. (German driver's license Class C1 is necessary but not considered a required employment prerequisite. Gaining the license may become subject to post-entry training - given the availability of required funding)


This may be tested.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
