Summary:

The work schedule for this position is:

Occasional travel (approximately 1 to 2 times per year) is required to support the U.S. Consulates General in Hamburg and Leipzig, to support port engagements, or to travel for off-site training.

Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant General Services Officer, the incumbent arranges and facilitates incoming and outgoing shipments of household effects (HHE), unaccompanied baggage (UAB), privately owned vehicles (POV) and other official shipments of supplies/equipment. The position provides support to the U.S. Embassy Berlin, U.S. Consulates General in Hamburg and Leipzig, while serving approximately 11 U.S. Government (USG) Agencies. The incumbent works closely with various Embassy sections, other Department of State (DOS) offices in the US and overseas, and external partners to ensure the proper, timely and safe shipping of Embassy-related effects. S/He handles diplomatic customs clearance for official shipments, assists employees with personal property claims, and processes registration and associated tasks of privately owned and official vehicles.    

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: please address this factor in your ERA application under major duties and responsibilities. 
Three years of experience in an office/administrative environment, business/ freight transport work, shipping, or logistics.


 

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school (US: High School Diploma/GED; Germany: state German school degree) is required.

Position requires good working knowledge language skills in English (speaking/reading/writing).

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
